A Message from Pastor Bryan

MESSAGE THIS SUNDAY:  'Rebuilding your broken world'.   The time of the restoration in the Old Testament was a time of coming home and then rebuilding their broken world.  In the world we live at times we experience brokenness.  Sometimes either our entire world or just a part of it seems broken.  The good news is you don't have to live in brokenness - you can rebuild and restart.  We will look at the beginning of the book of Nehemiah which gives us a blueprint on how to rebuild your world it if its broken.

Our Building

Christ Presbyterian church is located near the Lakewood Ranch area but it is far from typical.  We hope that you feel like your visit with us is like coming "home."  It is our endeavor to make CPC a church in which  you look forward to returning.

Our Pastor

Pastor Bryan Jurkowski
brings a message each week that gives practical insight on everyday issues.  Whether a series on marriage and the family or an in-depth look at a book of the Bible, you're sure to walk away with a renewed hunger for God's Word and His message.  Bryan and his wife Jennifer came to Bradenton to start CPC and has been pastor here for over 10 years.  Bryan brings strong leadership and a sincere faith to his pulpit ministry.

Our Director of Music

Each Sunday our Worship Band, under the direction of Steve Sipes, features powerful worship from songs you would hear on the radio, to yesterday's favorites with a twist of upbeat relevance.  CPC strives to keep music that points you to God and creates an atmosphere of reverence.  Steve has released several CDs of his own and a CD featuring the Worship Band of CPC. Steve also works as Director of YoungLife for East Manatee county.

Our Youth Director

Our youth ministries under the direction of Mark Elliott who was born in raised in Akron, Ohio.  Our youth group has something for everyone.  We offer programs for students to learn more about faith or to grow in their faith.   From our Youth Life Classes to our Wednesday Night Youth Group Programs, our goal is to introduce your teen to Christ, then walk with them as they grow in their faith.

Our Community of people

We hope that you enjoy your visit to our church.  We are
striving to meet the needs of the families in our area while providing a God-centered atmosphere in which families can worship.  We also strive to get our families CONNECTED One of the ways to do this is to attend events.

Did you know we have a "daughter church?"

So what does THAT mean?  It means that our church has agreed to "help" plant another church.  In Apollo Beach we are starting a church in an area where there is currently no ARP Churches.  Pastor Charlie Lewis and his family have agreed to a call to go and live in that area, to lay the ground work, find the people, and to establish themselves in the community just as we did over 10 years ago!  You can help financially, and by praying.  Below is a description of what's been going on so far.

Pastor Charlie Lewis,
his daughter Jessie (center),
his
wife Coco (far right),
and their youngest children, Jeddy, Chas, Emma, and Trent.

The NAME of
the church plant is:

"Christ Community"

How Do I Become A Christian

1. Confess that you are a sinner and that you cannot save yourself. "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God…" (Romans 3:23). This means that even though you try to do your best, you still fall short because you are a sinner. Romans 6:23 says that "the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." Salvation is the gift of God to you. That's the way He planned it.

2. Confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, He is the Son of God, and that He alone can save you. "Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved" (Acts 4:12). "For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all men–the testimony given at its proper time" (1 Timothy 2:5-6). Isaiah 53:6 says that "We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way; and the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all." Jesus took our sins upon Himself when He died on the cross. He paid the penalty for our sins so that we would not have to. He was raised from the dead, showing that He has victory of sin and death. Romans 10:9 says that "if you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved."

3. Acknowledge that salvation will be yours if you put your faith in Jesus Christ. Ephesians 2:8 says that "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith–and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God–not by works, so that no one can boast." This clearly indicates that God gives the gift of faith first. Then you take the faith He has given you and place it in Christ you will be saved by faith alone–there is nothing more for you to do.

4. Ask Jesus Christ to come into your life and be your Savior and Lord from this day forward, and forever. 2 Corinthians 5:17 says that "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!" This is what is known as "new life in Christ," or as John 3:3 puts it, being "born again."

Accepting Christ is ONLY the beginning. As we learn in Colossians 2:6-7, "Just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness." After accepting Him, be obedient by following Him in baptism and by uniting with the church. When you do, you will find that life truly does have new purpose and meaning.
