A Message from Pastor Bryan

MESSAGE THIS SUNDAY:  "What not to take so seriously in life."  Noted author Rick Warren has stated, "we take ourselves too seriously and do not take God serious enough".  In our series "taking God seriously" we have mainly looked at the first part of that - how to take God more seriously.  But scripture also gives us many examples of things in life we take far too serious at own detriment.

LORD'S SUPPER:  We will have the Lord's supper or communion this Sunday.

THANK YOU:  From North River Care Pregnancy center for all the diapers and wipes.  Thanks for all of your generous hearts and in this outreach. www.northrivercare.org

BUILDING NEWS:  This past Wednesday we closed on our loan with the bank (Grow Financial).  Everything went well and now we are waiting for the building to finish the last few items and get the county permits.  We hope to break ground the first week in September.

SERVICE TIME:  ONE SERVICE  10:00AM

Hope to see you this Sunday at CPC

Greetings,

I have some exciting news you may or may not have heard about.  CPC is starting our own on line community.  This is not just a web page but a community page where you can interact with other people in CPC.  For instance contact via email anyone else that has joined the community, or join the women's group or the the prayer group.  Use the discussion are to leave a prayer request.  Download and listen to a past message and many other things.

This is meant for all of us to interact better with one another and especially for the life of our church.  Please know it is only in the beginning stages and we still have many little things to work out.  But we are hoping it will be a safe on line community for all of us to interact with each other and interact with the life of our church.

Blessings
Pastor Bryan

Our Building

Christ Presbyterian church is located near the Lakewood Ranch area but it is far from typical.  We hope that you feel like your visit with us is like coming "home."  It is our endeavor to make CPC a church in which  you look forward to returning.

Our Pastor

Pastor Bryan Jurkowski
brings a message each week that gives practical insight on everyday issues.  Whether a series on marriage and the family or an in-depth look at a book of the Bible, you're sure to walk away with a renewed hunger for God's Word and His message.  Bryan and his wife Jennifer came to Bradenton to start CPC and has been pastor here for over 10 years.  Bryan brings strong leadership and a sincere faith to his pulpit ministry.

Our Director of Music

Each Sunday our Worship Band, under the direction of Steve Sipes, features powerful worship from songs you would hear on the radio, to yesterday's favorites with a twist of upbeat relevance.  CPC strives to keep music that points you to God and creates an atmosphere of reverence.  Steve has released several CDs of his own and a CD featuring the Worship Band of CPC. Steve also works as Director of YoungLife for East Manatee county.

Our Youth Director

Our youth ministries under the direction of Mark Elliott who was born in raised in Akron, Ohio.  Our youth group has something for everyone.  We offer programs for students to learn more about faith or to grow in their faith.   From our Youth Life Classes to our Wednesday Night Youth Group Programs, our goal is to introduce your teen to Christ, then walk with them as they grow in their faith.

Our Community of people

We hope that you enjoy your visit to our church.  We are
striving to meet the needs of the families in our area while providing a God-centered atmosphere in which families can worship.  We also strive to get our families CONNECTED One of the ways to do this is to attend events.

How Do I Become A Christian

1. Confess that you are a sinner and that you cannot save yourself. "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23). This means that even though you try to do your best, you still fall short because you are a sinner.

2. Confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, He is the Son of God, and that He alone can save you."For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all men the testimony given at its proper time" (1 Timothy 2:5-6).

3. Accepting Christ is ONLY the beginning. As we learn in Colossians 2:6-7, "Just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness." After accepting Him, be obedient by following Him in baptism and by uniting with the church. When you do, you will find that life truly does have new purpose and meaning.
