In
Matthew 28:19
we are told,
“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations,
baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the
Son and of the Holy Spirit..."
At CPC we are focused on the objective of faithfully
fulfilling this Great Commission of Christ; that is
taking the Gospel to all the nations and people of
the earth. |

Missions
- INDIA
with the Gerharts
|
Hello
Everyone,
This week we
have two
reports in
one. One is
from a quick
trip we made
to Razole in
the
neighboring
State of
Andhra
Pradesh and
the other
from our
church in
Bangalore.
Here is the
link to
click for
the photo
report!
http://gogfi.net/reports/120907.htm
Our friend
Pastor Phil
Derstine
from Gospel
Crusade in
Bradenton
came to
dedicate
Pastor
Sharath
Bhushan’s
new church
and we went
to celebrate
that event
with them.
We had a
wonderful
time of
fellowship
and a
reunion of
sorts as Kim
and I got
our start in
missions
under Pastor
Phil’s
tutelage. I
included
some photos
of the
scenery from
Razole. It
is a
beautiful
agricultural
area.
Then we went
back to
Bangalore
where we had
a special
service
honoring the
church
leadership
and gave
Christmas
gifts to
them.
Pastor
Patrick has
raised-up a
strong group
of faithful
servant
leaders.
This is a
busy week
here at
Gospel
Fellowship
Church.
Patrick and
crew are
busy
preparing
for the big
Christmas
events
ahead. They
will be
doing all
the stuff we
like to do;
caroling,
special
Christmas
program at
church and
also giving
gifts to the
poor and
needy in
this area.
We also met
with Pastor
Desouza from
Bangarapet
to give him
a little
Christmas
blessing
too.
Bangarapet
is a sister
church of
our church
in Bangalore
which was
started by
Patrick.
Some of the
monthly
support our
donors give
each month
goes to
helping
plant the
Bangarapet
church. We
hope to
plant many
new sister
churches
because our
purpose is
to be a
mission
church,
planting
churches in
unreached
areas.
Please see
attached
link to web
page with
the reports
your support
of this
worthy
mission much
appreciated
and is
producing
good fruit!
http://gogfi.net/reports/120907.htm and
more info at
http://gogfi.net/

As I
overlook
this city of
8 million
souls I am
overwhelmed
by the
challenge
but
encouraged
buy the
fruit we
have seen
thus far.
This mission
has resulted
in the
transformation
of many
lives. In
these photos
everyone is
dressed for
church and
happy but
the truth is
we face a
daily
struggle for
sustenance
along with
the
persecution
of the anti
Christian
forces all
around us.
In spite of
the
obstacles
the ministry
goes
forward. It
is because
of the gifts
of caring
donors that
make this
extraordinary
mission
possible.
Would you
consider a
special
offering at
this
Christmas
time? The
needs are
many but the
opportunity
we have to
change many
more lives
is within
our reach in
obediance to
the Great
Commission
of
Christ. Many
Hindu people
are hungry
for the
truth. How
can we
not respond?
Lord Bless,
Scott and

Missions
- INDIA
with the Gerharts |
|
Hello
everyone. Here is a brief
report from our first week
in India. Also please see
the attached photos. -
Scott and Kim Gerhart
Church Mission
When we arrival at the
airport at 2:00 am Saturday
morning we were whisked off
to the church to find that
the congregation was there
fasting and praying for
us.
It
was encouraging to see that
the church has grown
numerically since our last
visit but more importantly
the church has grown by
leaps and bounds
spiritually. For those of
you who visited you will
remember Babu, Shivaraj and
Shakkar. They are still
there and very committed to
working with Patrick in
leadership.
The church is alive and
active giving themselves
wholeheartedly to the
work of the Lord. It is
proving to be a bright light
in a dark area of Bangalore
that has no Christian
witness. The oppression and
opposition in this area is
strong and sadly, on Monday,
a radically anti-Christian
party took power in this
State for the first time and
we don’t know what to
expect. But that is why we
choose to plant churches in
this part of India; it does
not have a Christian
witness.
Scott
spoke on Sunday and we
enjoyed the Lord’s Supper
together with our Indian
brothers and sisters. After
the service we prayed
individually for those
wanting personal prayer and
handed out rice to some
local poor people. Later in
the day we observed a Kid’s
Corner in progress as they
practiced for there
Christmas program in
December.
Our
tailoring and computer class
students gave a special
choreographed dance
presentation. These
students are all of Hindu
background are all now
attending the church on a
regular basis. This
outreach ministries have
proven to reach the lost for
Christ and change lives
forever.
The wife of Babu, one of our
leaders, was very pregnant
when we arrived
and we prayed for her
because she had a problem in
the past with low blood
count and lost a 1 day old
baby because of that. Today
she delivered a perfect baby
girl. We went to the
hospital tonight to visit
her. That was interesting
in itself. The “maternity
ward” was just a long open
room with about 50 beds
lining the walls jammed with
visiting family members.
They wait a month before
naming children here but
rumor has it her name will
be Kimberly.
Business
We have been working around
the clock to get the office
fully operational.
We added PC’s, installed a
local area network and are
testing web platforms for
the online tutoring
business. Prem has been
diligently working along
side Scott and has proven to
be quite knowledgeable and
skillful. We found the
Internet speed to be too
slow and we are upgrading
our Internet service
tomorrow. Kim has been
teaching him one on one
American accent training and
has already seen a
difference in Prem’s
pronunciation in just a
short time.
We
found that one of our church
leaders, Shivaraj, is a
bookkeeper and will plan to
use him in the business to
keep the books for the
Indian and American
Companies and manage the
office. We have interviewed
two teachers as candidates
with impressive backgrounds
and impeccable English. We
discovered that as we
expected we will have no
problem finding excellent
teachers. More candidates
will be interviewed in the
next weeks to come. Just as
soon as we get our info
systems in place we can
begin our personal
one-on-one online tutoring
business.
We are busy day and night
with all this but will try
to report as often as we
can.

Missions-Marzahn,
GERMANY
| |
|
We support missions abroad and locally. Missions is
one of the main focuses of Christ Presbyterian Church both
financially and prayerfully. We have been involved with and
encouraged the efforts of missionaries Heiko and Kay Burklin in
Marzahn,
Germany.
Check out their website:
www.english.jugendkirche-marzahn.de/

Marzahn,
Germany
- ...is in the far eastern section of Berlin,
- ...is over 90% atheistic,
- ...has approximately 95,000 inhabitants under the age of 27,
- ...is Europe’s largest high-rise district.
Our Vision
We are a community of
Christians seeking God, celebrating and serving Him. We desire to
live in responsible relationships to each other marked by respect,
love and trust.
Our goal is to create interest for the Christian faith and to
reach non-believers and atheists with the Good News of Jesus Christ,
providing an opportunity for them to receive the love of God.
As representatives of Jesus Christ we would like to make a
positive contribution to the spiritual climate in Berlin, esp. in
Marzahn-Hellersdorf, by committing ourselves to the people in this
district, involving ourselves in relevant social activities,
providing spiritual services and assisting other church planting
efforts. All of this we hope to accomplish as partners with other
youth organizations, churches and church planting projects.
Our task
The Youth Church in Marzahn
exists to provide various programs (e.g. creative, cultural, sports
and spiritual activities) on the basis of Christian values to assist
young people and young adults in their personal and spiritual
development.
Our goals
-
To provide a perspective of hope for the
future of young people through extra-curricular activities,
discussions, retreats and counseling
-
To build up self-esteem and self-worth in
young people
-
To help develop their self-motivation and
sense of personal responsibility
-
To assist youth in developing skills in
conflict resolution, especially in developing an attitude of
acceptance and understanding between various races and
nationalities
-
To encourage the establishment and
maintenance of inter-personal relationships and help young
people develop a sense of social responsibility
-
To provide free tutoring
-
To communicate Christian values
-
To encourage individual personality
development
-
To help in their discovery of gifts and
talents
-
To provide meaningful assistance in dealing
critically with the media and youth culture

Missions-Dominican
Republic

Our 2006 Missions Team to the
Dominican Republic |
|
We spent the better part of a year raising money
to send our team to the D.R. for a very special trip. We would
not only help out Latin American Child Care by repainting and
re-roofing their school in Santo Domingo, but we would also have the
opportunity to meet Veilka Rodriguez Bautista.
We
sponsor Vielka through Compassion International and have been
raising money through JAM! to help her to be able to attend a
tutoring program that helps give the students the chance that they
need so they can graduate. We have been sponsoring Vielka for
the past 2 and a half years now. The students raise the money
through their giving of offering on Wednesday night at
JAM!
Latin
American Childcare or LACC, works to provide quality
education by giving opportunities for low-income children to attend
privately funded Christian schools. The school also
supplements its budget through giving permission to the local public
school to use its facilities as well. LACC also provides
uniforms, one meal, and basic medical needs to the children as well.
We got involved through this work through missionary Dale Coad and
his wife Patti.
The
students that we took also participated in clowning as a part of the
Castillo De Rey Kids Church in which we had over 200 children in
attendance. They worked very hard and were able to bring
smiles to the faces of the children and their parents.
