Christ Community has
enjoyed a busy spring. We have had more visitors on
Sunday mornings and the number of people who
consider Christ Community their church is slowly
growing. A report at the end of this update, which
I recently provided to our denominational agencies,
provides specific numbers.
God has used personal
invitations, two mass mailing campaigns, and a large
outreach event, that we called Easter Eggtravaganza,
to bring visitors to Christ Community. Easter
Eggtravaganza included all types of games for
children, an Easter egg hunt, music, refreshments
and just good old fun at a community park. Although
no official count was taken, at one time in the
afternoon there were over 250 people in attendance.
The visitors have
included people with various religious backgrounds
that range from the unchurched to Jehovah Witnesses
to an ordained Presbyterian minister.
We are continuing to
try to reach our community for Christ. This weekend
Christ Community will have a booth at the Ruskin
Tomato and Heritage Festival (http://ruskintomatofestival.org).
This booth will provide us an opportunity to make
contacts with people in our community. Later this
month I am helping our neighborhood plan a party
that will provide us a chance to meet and visit with
our neighbors. Then, Memorial Day Weekend Christ
Community is planning to host another event like the
Easter Eggtravaganza.

stamina to reach the small goals we set each day.

through the ministries of Christ Community,
particularly the small group ministry and our
evangelism efforts.

On Sunday mornings we now have a Praise Team that
includes two guitars and three singers. Pray that
our musicians continue to improve and that God will
bring other skilled musicians.
3.
The development of
material for our new members’ class and the
individuals who attend.
4.
God to raise up
spiritually mature leaders at Christ Community.
